Day 85 - 'Boot' Hill to Grand Ole

Not Boot Hill the cemetery.  The Boot Barn to get some Western Gear for the Opry tonight and our trip to Memphis.   After Lori and Brent leave on Friday, Martha and I are still going on to Texas and New Mexico, so we may get a bit more use out of them.  And then there is line dancing in Havasu.

Lookin Good Ma'am..

Not looking quite as good, something about the shorts I think.

Ready to go after about ten minutes, the girls added another 50 or so.  Site seeing, an hour tour at the Boot Barn in Nashville, Tennessee.   Whoooo Yaa!

Then we cruised over to the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, the longest foot bridge in the world.  Or Nashville, one of those.  That is the girls waving from the top while Brent and I parked the truck.

Buying Western Boots got Lori into the mood for a horse.  She found a second best.  Why didn't she get the boots with the spurs?

Perfect weather for a stroll with your honey.

That is the Footbridge in the background, we had lunch three stories up on a balcony.

Titan Stadium in the background in this picture.  Titan sized bite in the foreground.

If you look close you can see us 'waving' from our table on the right side of the picture.

Then we went over to Fort Negley.   The largest fort in the U.S.  or Nashville, one of the two.

Three separate levels of defense.   I took up a position on the third Level.   Fat guy level.
Why is it called Fat Guy Level?  No more levels to fall back to, can't run fast anyway.

Then over to Studio B.   Very famous.  Through this door walked Elvis, Roy Orbison, Dolly Parton, The Every Brothers, and numerous others.  Guitar in one hand, dreams in the other.

Sorry girls, you actually have to have talent before they let you in.
(pretty sure I am going to pay for that remark)

Then we went to the Parthenon.   When the citizens of Nashville heard that a replica of the Nashville City Hall was constructed in Greece, they decided to build a replica of the Parthenon in Nashville.

Inside is this really big Golden Lady.

I couldn't resist asking this winged dog/lion looking guy,
"If you like standing here looking at this statue all day, give me five!"

Getting the statue to hold still so that the girls could get a good picture took some doing.

Then a stop at another famous landmark before heading back to the trailer to get ready for tonight.

All duded up we're ready to go.

Got to the 7pm show at 5:30 to take part in the food truck tailgate party.

Front row balcony side stage seats.

We had a grand ole opry time.

Back to the trailer for dessert.

Tomorrow its pack up and head to Memphis.   This week is packed with fun and going by too fast.
Don't you think so too?

  1. I can't believe we did all that in one day! The Grand Ole Opry was one of the coolest parts of the trip! I'm so glad we went, new kickers and all!
