Day 83 - Dollywood

We started out our day at the Old Mill Restaurant.

The food was really great and Brent and Lori decided that they should buy for a Birthday Breakfast for me.   That was nice of them and made the food even taste BETTER!

Then we took the trolly to Dolly.  Pretty fantastic discount for veterans, 30% off, saved the four of us $80.00.   Amazing!  Thanks Dolly.

It is so beautiful throughout the park.   Lots of spots that are calming and peaceful.  Lots of restrooms, and benches to just sit and relax.

Every building styled in back woods Tennessee style.

We started off driving some classic cars.  The little girl in line in front of Lori said, "This must be a really scary ride, the seatbelt are velcro."

While Cattani's cruised in a vintage Caddy, Martha took the wheel of a T-Bird.

Nice looking couple.

Then we decided since it was about 55 degrees outside it would be a good time to get all wet.

And we did.  I didn't realize that I should lift up my feet and my shoes and socks got soaked.   I squished my way around the park for the next several hours.  All of us had wet buts and backs.

Lori and Brent went on the wilder rides while Martha and I enjoyed the faces on the people around us.   People watching, especially the kids, is great fun.

Oh, there's a couple of kids now.

We went for the tamer activities.

Both Brent and Lori deserve the Eagle shirt, Martha and I are in line for the 'chicken' shirt.

Beautiful buildings, great surroundings everywhere.

Mother Daughter Potty Trips.

Nice Lunch.

We took the Dollywood Express on a ride around the park.   A steam engine locomotive, very nice ride and perfect time of year, the trees are turning nicely.

We had a really great day.

And we were all a little tired by its ending.  Brent and I joined the Porch Sitters Union while Martha and Lori attacked the bakery to take home some last minute calories.

Tomorrow we head to Nashville.    We have tickets for the Grand Ole Opry for Wednesday night.

Back at the trailer, ready for a peaceful night, a little hot tubbing, a few drinks, and digging into the calorie bags.   We are saving you a fresh baked cinnamon bun, don't wait too long to claim it!

  1. Best day ever! However, I believe it was you who decided we should all go on "the rampage!" There was no "we" in that decision!! 😂
