Day 64 - Run Forest Run

I hate zoos.  I feel like I am visiting Folsom Prison when we go to one.   One of the things we love about Tahoe is that we get to see bears living a free life.  No cage.  I have been looking forward to seeing alligator's in the wild.  Of course, from the safety of the truck.  We haven't seen any yet but seeing this sign is getting me hopeful.

So last night we sat on the Braswell's balcony and visited with Diane and Jim.  We stayed at their condo last night.

With the view of the beach to the East, the sun setting in the West, the wine bottle within reach, we had a really nice visit.

We walked over to a great restaurant after the sun set.  Havana's.   I had such a good meal.   A big bowl of clam chowder, and a Salmon Caesar Salad.  I expected the Salmon to be sprinkled over the top of the salad.   When it arrived, WOW! a nice big entree sized piece of blackened Salmon lying on top of the salad.  It was cooked to perfection.  Martha also had a great meal, Lobster Seafood Bake.  Good thing we were staying with them after the wine, dinner and drinks with dinner.  Nice time.

This morning we awoke to a much different day than our beach laying day that we enjoyed yesterday.   The Atlantic kicking up a bit, as is the wind.

We have been eyeing the Weather Channel and their tracking of Hurricane Matthew.

Over the next few days our agenda was to go to Charlotte, N.C. and Savannah, GA.
Ending Saturday in St. Augustine, Florida.  Well there is a candidate running for office around here named Forest Bradwerd.  His campaign signs are along side a lot of the roads here.  Very cute.

Well, as our route plans take us South head long into 80 mph winds, we are going to Run Forest Run ourselves.   Tomorrow we are heading 90 miles inland.   A route that will prevent us from seeing Charlotte and Savannah but may keep us from toppling over in the Hurricane also.  Wind predictions in the area we are going to are only 20mph.  We are keeping our Saturday reservation in St. Augustine as the Hurricane should have passed by then.  IF it hasn't we will wait until Sunday to move on.  So for the next couple of days we will most likely be sitting in the trailer.

I saw this sign and thought, maybe we should change the name of our BLOG.  What do you think?
We value your opinion and the fact that you are following us.   Thanks for that.  Stay Dry.
