Day 53 - Cherry Hill Park

Kind of a hairy drive through Baltimore today.  Freeway all the way but lots of traffic and although we stayed on the same route it exited left and right several times.   It is a trip sometimes when you have a big trailer following you and the sign says to exit left in one mile.  Love changing four lanes.  No troubles though.  The two and a half hours drive from Old Cedar got us to the Cherry Hill RV Park at noon.  We are only 10 miles from DC.  AND Wow, what a park.   A cafe here with really reasonable prices.  Two pools, mini golf, rec center, sauna, hot tub, grocery store and RV store.  To top it all off, a shuttle bus that goes into DC for only $2 round trip.

We had lunch at the cafe here then had some time to sit poolside.

Adjacent to the pool is the cafe.

The top of the picture below shows our RV.  Great location right next to all the fun stuff.

NO, the Starbucks isn't in the park, but there is one only a mile away.  We stopped at this one on our way down.

They had a presentation at 4pm and gave everyone the skinny on the tours, busses, and subways.  The park is so awesome.  They provide dog walkers if you are going to be gone all day.   We do not have a dog although I do find myself in the dog house on occasion.  After the presentation we ran into the likeness of all of the candidates in the RV Park Store.  Mr. Trump is actually my height so this is not an actual life size poster.  After taking the photo and getting a look at it, my inspection discovered that you can never trust your back, I see that someone was looking over my shoulder....   Hummmmm.   Guess I will check my email and see if I can find out who. If I can find my email.

Tomorrow there is a dedication in Washington D.C. for the African American Center.  It cost 550 million dollars to build.   It is going to draw a big opening crowd so we are going to go to Annapolis for the day.   It is 35 miles North of DC and 25 miles from the RV Park.   We'll be here for six days, that will give us plenty of time to see the things that we want to see in DC.
Thanks for making the move here with us.

  1. Looks like you're still alive and having a great time! Kate us a soccer game today in Tucson, D has a swim invite at the high school and M has soccer pictures at noon. I decided to lay in bed and catch up on your blog. It was a great reminder of what is important in life; cows and Starbucks. ☺️
