Day 49 - Wahlburgers

Two and a half hour drive today to Monroeville, New Jersey.  It rained hard all night and this morning.   No hurry to leave we had to break camp in a light drizzle and waited till around ten to get going.  Stopped at a turnpike rest area as they had a Starbucks.  I went without yesterday.  Poor me.  We get to park with the big boys.

Rained on and off the whole trip.  I bought new tires before we left even though the truck only had 20,000 miles on it.  I wanted good rubber for this trip.  With the truck in 4 wheel drive I feel real secure driving in the rain.

We got set up in the park by two and decided to take the 30 minute drive into Philadelphia for lunch.  No, not a Philly CheeseSteak.   We will give that a shot tomorrow.  One of my goals on this trip was to go to a Wahlburgers.  I am concerned that Ole Marky Mark and Blue Blood brother Donnie might not be making enough money and I was anxious to contribute to their welfare.

Philadelphia is pretty much how I pictured it.

On the Delaware River.  IT is huge.  Big cargo ships and a Navy Destroyer below.

And then we arrived.  Wahlburgers.

It was pretty empty but it was 3pm on a Monday.

Food was good.  Red Robin type burgers and something I had never eaten, shoestring onion rings.

Made from red onions, they were fun to eat and we got a ton of them.

Inside a floor to ceiling poster of Mom and the Boys.

Outside their Philly Food Truck.

Then there was getting out of town and back to the seclusion of our RV Park in the woods.

It took about 45 minutes to get home.  Out our back window a field.

And our mooing neighbors.  Not like in the city.

Tomorrow we will go back to the city to tourist.   It is supposed to be cloudy but no rain.  We shall see.   On Wednesday we will take the half hour drive to Atlantic City.   It is supposed to only be partly cloudy, and we are hoping for a nice walk on the Boardwalk.  Tomorrow?  A Philly Cheesesteak for lunch.  Anyone know the best place to go?  Thanks for keeping a sunny outlook.
