Day 18 - Down on the Farm

Betsy and Gene took us to two different farms today.   We were treated like long lost relatives.  Everyone was super nice and showed us all around their places.  Never expected Martha to ride in the back of a pick up truck inspecting the herd.

Or stealing eggs from the hens.

She got quite a haul

Checking out the oinkers as well

A full tour.  It is amazing how detailed it is to run a farm these days.  Including doing ultrasounds on the pregnant herd.

Just beautiful country.

We got a wealth of information.  24/7 and then some to operate a farm..

Along with massive amounts of equipment and huge barns, a '74 Harley hiding out in the corner.  It hasn't been started in over 20 years.

This is American Picker country.

Betsy and Gene met Trump and have some really great stories to tell.

We had a great lunch.   Then Martha and I headed for Iowa City about 3pm.   Tomorrow on to Chicago.

Gene showed me his major prize that he had won.   Funny.

It seems like we just left yesterday.  It is amazing to see signs for Middle America Cities.

Thanks, Gene and Betsy.  We had a really wonderful visit and you are the kings of hospitality and truly exceptional tour guides.

    1. Yes. We did swing by to check it out. Pretty cool. The Midwest is such an amazing place. Tiny little towns everywhere. Corn fields as far as you can see. So peaceful here.
