Day 17 - Oakland, Iowa

Drove to Iowa today and set up the trailer half an hour from Gene and Betsy Moniz's house in Oakland.  Then we had a great day with them.   Oh Iowa, corn, corn, corn, as far as the eye can see.  My very favorite food.

We got the grand tour of Oakland where Gene and Betsy own and manage 11 rental properties.  I would go out of my mind.  I don't know how they can do it.  Betsy is also on the city council and works in the senior center.  Busy people.

Being only 45 minutes from Nebraska we had to go to Omaha and check it out so that we could add it to our RV map.  Gene drove us and we had a great day touring old Omaha.   Awesome main street and shops.

We ended our day having a loose meat sandwich.   A sandwich that is unique to Iowa.  Tomorrow we are going to a farm with Gene and Betsy and kick back.  Tomorrow late we will drive to Iowa City on the other side of the state.
