Day 96 - Traveling to Corpus Christi

Four and a half hours drive today into Texas country.   Traveling throughout America we see lots of homes displaying Old Glory.   In Texas, Old Glory is joined by the Lone Star Flag nearly every time. It is a sweet flag, and it is easy to see that American Pride in Texas is done Texas Style.

How could you be in Texas and not see a few riders roadside?

Lunch time we passed through a small town.   We have never gone to DQ for a meal, only ice cream treats, but there was not any other eatery in this town so we thought we'd give it a try.  I didn't know that they served so many things.   I had a Nacho Mexican Salad.  It was really fantastic.  I was so surprised.   Martha had fish and chips and she enjoyed her lunch as well.  It gave me a whole new opinion of DQ.   If you get a chance to try the Mexican Nacho Salad, Go for it.   Good Stuff!

Our RV Park in Corpus Christi is probably one of the least fancy with the least amenities of any park we have stayed.   BUT.... It is right on the beach.   I could toss a line in from our couch if I were a rod and reel sort of guy.  Martha is a seashell picking sort of gal, and she went right to it.

After we set up we called Joe and Catherine and set up a visit.

Their Condo is right on the Bay with a fabulous view.  Behind the shadows of Joe and Martha here sits the kind of balcony you can easily devote a day to.   Everyday.

We worked together with Joe 46 years ago at the Prime Rib Inn Restaurant on Fulton Avenue in Sacramento.  I would have known him anywhere.   We reconnected via FaceBook about a year ago and we made sure our trip gave us the opportunity to meet up.

The nighttime view is equally wonderful.   Standing on the balcony not a sound exists other than the waves crashing into the shore.  Very nice.

We are going to get together for Brunch tomorrow.  We are looking forward to it.

Don't forget that tonight we all get a free hours sleep.
(That is, unless you live in Arizona, a state which never changes it's clocks)

For the rest of us, sleep tight, don't let the bed..... well, you know.
