Day 101 - Enchanting Day

Look close Joe Thane.   Joey has a thing, as do I, for people clogging up the fast lane.  All the highways in Texas have this sign about every five or ten miles.  California needs to do this.

We left at 6:45am to beat the San Antonio rush hour traffic and headed to Carlsbad.   Stopping along the way at a truck stop and grabbing this picture, I feel like The Little Engine That Could.

Cool sign at the truck stop though.

Topography has changed from the water ridden South to the dry deserty Southwest.

Around Pecos there is absolutely nothing but oil fields.   And are they ever busy!   Trucks everywhere, heavy equipment everywhere.  Portable housing for the workers.  Amazing.

Then into the Land Of Enchantment.

Carlsbad Caverns tomorrow.

We will go to Roswell Saturday.   Until then, we'll keep our eyes on the sky.

We are at the Carlsbad KOA which is actually 20 miles from Carlsbad and 58 miles from the Caverns and in the middle of nowhere.

Martha added our last State to the map.  On Monday we will be in our start State of Arizona.

These are the states remaining.  Next April we may make another run.   Starting from Havasu and East into Colorado in April, and ending in Oregon in late June.   We will have been in every State in the Continental United States after that run.  Then in 2019 Alaska most likely not by trailer.  We have already been in Hawaii (not in the trailer).  Daah.   Maybe we should go again.

Aloha!
