Day 102 - Carlsbad & Veteran's Day

Veteran's Day.  Ogness, Cochrane, and Frolich hanging out in the Ashaw Valley, Vietnam.  No one went by their first name.

We went to Carlsbad Caverns today.  Free Admittance for Veteran's Day for both Martha and I.  Sweet!

There is an elevator to the cave floor, 750 feet down.   We decided to walk it.   It is an hours walk.
I am glad we did, it was very cool.   And, "Holy Opening Batman, the entrance to the bat cave"

After the hours walk to the cave floor, we were glad to find a snack bar there.  Time to cool off and Gator Aid up.

There are so many beautiful spots at every turn, ahead, below, and above.  Although we took lots of pictures, there is no way to do it justice.   If you ever get the chance to go, do so.

Then it was time to go home and celebrate Veteran's Day.

Holy Diet!  What a way to celebrate!

Tomorrow we are off to Roswell.   "Nano nano"

  1. hola' MO...first want to know if you walked outta the Caverns?...elevator was closed when we were there...you may remember we stayed at Cbd KOA also...that really sucks about the truck burglary & can happen anywhere...lady friend here in LHC did just like you while walking the island & window smash when returning from exercise...PD figured someone watched as purse was placed under seat...an LASO retired LT friend in LHC hid their stuff at Havasu Fitness right behind the PD...window smash, same result...the personal stuff is the tuff one...I liked your prayer request...:-)

    1. Hello! The elevators were working or I would still be crawling out of there. Pretty impressed that you guys walked out. It is sad about our stuff being taken, but moving on and not looking back. Just sad that people do such crumby stuff. Did you know that Mary Ann Bryant from our class is a veteran? I see her on FB sometimes. I think she is the only female veteran I know. Martha
