Day 67 - Evening

It is getting dark out now.   There still is not a noticeable change in the wind but we are still hours away from the brunt of our serge.   We should feel the worst of it around 3am or 4am.

My earlier post of the hurricane location was not accurate.  This one is.  I guess I was looking at projections of its course earlier.

Anyway, this is the route we hope we will be able to use tomorrow afternoon to go to Lake City.  The biggest concern around here is not wind but flooding.   If the roads are closed, we may be waiting until Sunday to leave here.  Currently we have reservations for Lake City Saturday and Sunday nights with reservations in St. Augustine for Monday and Tuesday nights.  Wednesday we are visiting Martha's cousins in Vero Beach.   We just heard from them and they are fine.  They are inland about 5 miles from the Atlantic and the Hurricane has passed.   They just opened their shutters, the wind has subsided there.  They are without power but have a generator fired up powering a lot of their house.

I hope you have a good nights sleep, we should be doing some rockin, and if you are out in the storm, feel free to come a knockin.  We'll let you in.
