Rain really pounded down on the trailer this morning. It started about 6 and broke around 7:30 so we broke camp. On the way to North Carolina it started again. We dropped our 70mph freeway speed down to 30mph with our flashers on. Everyone else did the same. We could only see about twenty feet in front of the truck and at times not at all. I was about ready to just pull over when it let up to just a shower. The East Coast definitely gets some weather. A four hour drive turned 4 1/2 to our next stop, Four Oaks, North Carolina.
We made one rest stop along the way.
After getting set up we went a few miles back where we saw a car show going on. One of Bill Gorman's past adventures was on display.
Back at the trailer we added two more states to the map. We will end this adventure with a hole across mid America and the far North. Both are the subject of future ventures. You can see the hole starting to happen as West Virginia remains empty. Grand Pappy Amos and the girls and the boys would be sad we missed it. (Age limit required to understand that last sentence)
Tomorrow we are going to meet up with my Nieces at Applebee's in Jacksonville for breakfast/lunch and then Monday we are staying at a good friend of Martha's from Roseville, Diane Bramwell, at her beach condo for the night. They lived across the street from us. It will be a nice break from trailer living for a night.
I still have our BLOG address sign in the rear window of the trailer. On the way down a car passed us and the passenger, a lady, held up her iPad, motioned to it, smiled and waved. Funny. Thanks for checking up on us today with YOUR 'I whatever' and for bringing your umbrella this morning.
cute story on blog lady...you'll probably hear from her...heavy rain is nasty & hydro-planing is the worst...:-)
