Downtown Annapolis. Awesome buildings, restaurants, and shops. This photo looking down the street towards the water.
Same street from the water looking up.
The local Elementary School offered parking for $10 all day. The commercial parking lots were $20 and the street metered parking was limited to two hours. We were lucky to stumble onto the school lot as we drove around looking for a place to park. A lot of the parking garages have 6'3" or 6'6" height limits, and the truck needs 6'8". We try to find open lots as opposed to parking garages. The money paid to park on the school lot was collected by students and teachers and 100% went to the school. The best part, it was only a block off of Main Street. Only two blocks off Main Street is the entrance to the Naval Academy.
Impressive grounds and we watched a 15 minute film in the visitor center. It makes you so proud of the applicants here. And America. Below is the largest dormitory in the United States.
The Superintendents Residence.
Nice campus grounds, as expected.
John Paul Jones was placed here.
Below is his crypt. Extremely ornate.
Alex Haley, author of 'Roots', has a statue on the waterfront at the base of Main Street, downtown.
There is no getting over these buildings. They are so awesome.
St. Marys Catholic Church
More downtown buildings
And Houses.
A short stop for refreshments.
When I saw this sign I instantly thought of Trump advocate Doug Francoise. Hope you like it Doug.
Stopped by the grocery on the way home and nabbed some meat loaf with mashed potatoes and gravy from their Deli. I love that, maybe my favorite meal. Next to spaghetti and meat balls of course. Martha had a Caesar Salad. No comparison. We haven't made our plan for tomorrow yet. Actually tomorrow is a very big day for our trip. Can you guess why?
I've never had a BAD Margarita !!!! To be honest I think America IS great...
